Inventory Movement Types

  1. Virtual Movement (No Task Creation)
    Inventory is updated directly in the system. No picker is involved.
    Use when physical movement is already completed, and only system update is required.

    a. Web UI
    i. Go to Move Inventory
    ii. Click +New Move Inventory
    iii. Fill in movement details and click Add
    iv. Changes reflect in Inventory > Summary

    b. Uploads – Without Tasks
    i. Prepare Move Inventory file with Task Creation = N
    ii. Upload via Extras > Uploads
    iii. Inventory is updated instantly (Ideal for non-physical relocations in bulk)

  2. Task-Based Movement (With Task Creation)
    Tasks are created in the system and executed by pickers via the Mobile App.
    Use when physical confirmation is required.

    a. Upload – With Tasks
    i. Prepare Move Inventory file with Task Creation = Y
    ii. Upload to WMS
    iii. Tasks appear in Web UI and Mobile App

    b. Mobile App – Execute Tasks
    i. Open Move Inventory on the app
    ii. Select movement type: SKU-Based or LPN-Based
    iii. Use tabs: PICK: LPNs to be picked, DROP: Picked LPNs pending drop
    iv. After picking, LPN moves to DROP tab
    v. Confirm drop to complete the movement


1. Virtual Movement in the system(No Task Creation )

a. Web UI

Check the Inventory for the SKU details which is to be moved.

Here we update the SKU "RL-TB-1001" moved from location "DFLT1" to location"A3".

Navigate to the Inventory >Summary Summary.

Click on "FILTER" and enter the SKU code. Click on "Submit".

Let us check the Location and quantity details of the chosen SKU.

Click on "Location" to note the current quantity of SKU selected at different locaitons.

Navigate to "Move Inventory".

Choose the SKU CODE of the item to be moved and it's source location.

Click on "Add" to confirm this task and virtually move this quantity.

Navigate back to Inventory Summary to check if the Inventory movement was reflected in the system.

We can observe that the quantity moved from DFLT1 to A1 and A2 locations.

2. Task-Based Movement (With Task Creation)

Navigate to the Uploads page.

Click on "Download Format" which downloads an Excel file with necessary columns to be filled for the selected Form.

Fill the Move Inventory details in bulk. Here we see an example 1 SKU.

It is important to put the value of "Task Creation" as Y (Yes) for a task to be created in the Move Inventory Tab and for a user to be able to view the task in the Mobile.

Other wise, the SKU Qty will be moved from Source Location to Destination Location in the system virtually. This change in inventory location can be viewed in the "Inventory" -> "Summary" tab.

Click on "+ Choose" to choose the files from local PC (system)

Uploads Status :

1. Completed - Successfully uploaded the file, and can see the details in the Move Inventory page.
2. Invalid - Check if the format of the uploaded file matches the selected form in the dropdown.
3. Failed - Download the Failed file by clicking on it. This file shows the reasons for failure in the last column of the file. Do not use this same file to upload, change the details in file uploaded earlier or download new csv file and try again.
