How to Assess Student Writing with AI in Mark My Words

Learn how to upload student work, review AI-generated rubrics, edit feedback, and find targeted lesson resources in Mark My Words.

This guide walks you through uploading a student's writing sample into the AI-powered Mark My Words assessment tool to generate rubrics, feedback, and targeted lesson resources.

It is designed for teachers and educators who want to automate grading and quickly identify focus areas for their writing classes.

Create a New Assessment

Click Start Marking to access the assessment dashboard.

Select the writing style, such as Narrative, from the Text Type dropdown.

Upload Student Work

Drag and drop the student's file or screenshot into the upload area.

Evaluate the Submission

Once the file finishes processing, the AI will evaluate the writing and generate scores.

Access Targeted Resources

Based on the analytics, the platform will suggest specific teaching resources and training videos to help the student improve.
