How to Add Custom Meta Titles and Descriptions to Blog Pages

In this guide, we'll learn how to add and customize meta titles and descriptions for individual blog pages using custom fields. This process helps improve how each blog post appears in search results and allows for better control over page information.

We'll look at how to create and update these fields in your blog template, so each post can have its own meta data.

Let's get started

As you mentioned, we are unable to change the meta title and description at the page level. I looked into it to figure out the issue. Here is what I learned. I will guide you through it. First, let me show you an individual blog page, specifically the post template that will be used sitewide for all blogs.

So, so that is... This is the template.

If you look into it, you'll find a blog title and a blog excerpt, which are not usually present on the RealityMine website. I will explain how this was created and how it works in the following pages.

Let's go to the blog post.

Step #5: Click on "Blog Post Categories 3 items" — Click on "Blog Post Categories 3 items"

This is one of the blog posts.

Step #6: Click on "digital" — Click on "digital"

Let me show you that a title is being called here. This excerpt is also being called here.

Step #7: Double-click on "5 ways to improve your digital project management" — Double-click on "5 ways to improve your digital project management"

Step #8: Double-click on "Viverra tristique gravida dolor vel aenean egestas libero enim consequat arcu augue euismod est" — Double-click on "Viverra tristique gravida dolor vel aenean egestas libero enim consequat arcu augue euismod est"

But in our case, it is not present.

So, what... How do you add it? We need to go to the settings.

Step #10: Click on "Settings" — Click on "Settings"

As you can see, the blog title is present, and the excerpt is also present. If it is not available, we can create a meta description.

Step #11: Click on "+ Add Field" — Click on "+ Add Field"

It is done. Save this field.

Type "Meta Description"

You can adjust additional settings, such as setting the minimum character count and other options.

Step #16: Click on "E.g. 20" — Click on "E.g. 20"

This field is required.

You can do it the same way.

Save the collection. The collection has been saved.

Go back to that page. This is the template. Now, the template has the same features.

Now, we will move on to the excerpt.

We can delete it. We can also add a meta description here.

Now, every page will have a meta description. That meta description will be automatically applied to the pages.

Now, let me return to the blog and show you.

Previously, there was only an excerpt field. Now, you have a field to add the meta description.

You can add a meta description here. You can also add a custom meta title and other details, so it will work. We need to create a few custom fields for individual blogs, and they should be sorted. I have shared the reference videos and also explained it using a dummy website. I was also looking at the RealityMine website, but we currently don't have access to create fields.
