
How to Create a New External Partner in DirectUS

In this guide, we'll learn how to create a new external partner in DirectUS. When managing users in your DirectUS CMS, adding external partners is a common task. By following a few simple steps, you can efficiently set up new partners with the necessary access and permissions. Let's break down the process into clear steps to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for your external partners.
Adding a New External Partner
To begin, navigate to the Users tab within your DirectUS CMS. Locate the plus icon in the upper right corner to initiate the partner creation process. Fill in the required information, ensuring to select the appropriate role and designate them as external users. Remember, for external partners, setting up a password is unnecessary as they won't be logging into the platform.
Assigning Permissions and Access
Next, enable content download permissions if needed and associate the partner with a club. Utilize the search functionality to quickly find and link the partner to the relevant club. Specify the programs they should have access to by selecting the appropriate categories or granting access to all categories with a single click.
Finalizing and Activating the User
Once permissions and access are configured, specify the Partner Type to categorize the new partner correctly. To complete the process, click the Save button to activate the user within the system.

Here's how to create a new external partner in DirectUS. Open your DirectUS CMS and click the Users tab.

Simply press the plus icon in the upper right to start adding the user.

Fill in the user's first name, last name and email address.

You can leave the password field blank.
External users do not need to log into the platform, so they do not require a password.

Select the Role and "External Users."


If the user is authorized to download content, click the "Download Content Enabled" toggle.

An important step is to add them to the correct Club. Click "Add Existing" to associate this user with an existing Club.

You can easily search by clicking the search field and find the appropriate club on the list.



Then click the checkbox in the upper right to save.

You must also select which programs they have access to.

If a partner has access to everything, you can simply click the checkbox next to Categories. This will select them all.

Click the checkbox to save.

Select the Partner Type.


Click the Save button to activate the user.
