How to Create Spotify Clippings for Playlists Without Cover Photos
Learn how to create Spotify clippings for playlists featuring artists without cover photos.
In this guide, we'll learn how to create Spotify clippings for playlists that lack a cover photo. This process involves using an artist's press kit photo to fill the gap, ensuring the playlist maintains a professional appearance. We'll cover the steps to select and format the photo, integrate it with the playlist elements, and add finishing touches like borders and shadows. This method is particularly useful for artists featured on playlists without a designated cover image, allowing for a cohesive and visually appealing presentation.
Let's get started
This is a quick tutorial on creating Spotify clippings for playlists where our artists are featured but the playlist lacks a cover photo. There's one extra step you'll need to take. Apply everything from the previous video on Spotify clippings here.

Next, you will go to the artists press kit by typing in music.trendpr.com/artistname.

Scroll down to get to the press kit photos.

For playlists without a cover photo, it's important to visit the artist's press kit and obtain a photo, similar to what you would do for a media outlet. Apply that here. Click to download in high resolution. Then, press Command-Shift-4 to take a screenshot as usual.
Ensure it is a square. Take a screenshot, then close the press kit and exit.
We are now back at the Spotify playlist. The key is to ensure you have a screenshot of the Spotify playlist title, so I'll do that.

We'll take a screenshot of the song and the title of the playlist, saving it alongside everything else. These are all the elements you need from the Spotify playlist to create this clipping.
REMEMBER* The only difference is that we need to access the artist's press kit to obtain a press photo. Next, open the Pages application. Then, drag the photo into the document.

Typically, the photo will be larger, so you'll need to hold down the Shift key and resize it to make it smaller.
Add your own authentic spin by incorporating borders and shadows.
Next, click on the photo and select the shadow option. Apply a shadow to make it stand out.
Next, Drag over the playlist title.
Then, center the text, making sure it does not block the artists face.

Ensure all the information is included. Then, drag over the song and format it underneath, centering it slightly.
Make sure no element appears disproportionately larger than another to avoid a choppy appearance.
Bring over the Spotify logo.
Remember, it's crucial to always include the logo of the source, such as Spotify or Apple Music.
Format it and place it in the corner to indicate it's a Spotify playlist, and then you're done.
Place it in the corner. We have all the necessary elements here. Now, I will add shadows to them to make the components stand out.

If you want to try something different, you can match the background color to the border of the clippings.
KEY TAKEAWAY* To change the cover photo for Spotify playlists without one, take a photo from their press kit. Then, get all your key components by screenshotting them from the playlist. Get your Pages tab ready and apply the skills from the last Spotify video and creating clips for media outlet videos to create the best clippings.
