How to Download and Manage Zoom Meeting Recordings
Learn the step-by-step process to download and manage your Zoom meeting recordings, including storing them on OneDrive and publishing on YouTube.
In this guide, we'll learn how to download a recording of a meeting from Zoom and organize it for storage and sharing. We'll start by signing into the appropriate Zoom account, locating the recording, and downloading it. After downloading, we'll explore how to manage the files, including the video, transcript, and chat, by storing them in OneDrive. This process ensures that important meeting materials are accessible and properly archived for future reference.
Let's get started
We will learn how and where to download a recording of a meeting from Zoom.

First, sign into the account where the recording is stored. For the COG, RPC, or regional housing committee meetings, it's typically on the main account with the elopresti email address.
Then, go to "Recordings & Transcripts" on the left side of the page.

Locate your meeting and click on "Download."

For the housing committee, besides storing it on our network, we also publish it on YouTube, which will be covered in a separate tutorial. After it's done downloading, go to your Downloads folder, and you'll see the recordings there.
One of these will be a chat.

I usually check to see if we need to save the chat.

You'll typically see the video, an audio-only recording, a chat (if used during meeting), and a transcript.
I will upload the video, transcript, and chat to our OneDrive.
Go to RiverCog Documents, then Agendas Meetings 2025. Open the Recordings folder and find the one you need.

Recordings are located on RiverCOG/Documents/Agendas Minutes 2025. This is the Regional Housing Committee meeting so we locate the RHC folder. Drag and drop the files into OneDrive from your downloads folder. Once they upload, I will rename them using the same format as the files that are already in the folder.

You then should verify that the video download worked correctly and delete the recording from the Zoom account so it no longer uses that storage. You can also delete it from your downloads folder.
