How to Generate and Send Weekly Reports in Toggl

Learn the step-by-step process to generate and send weekly reports in Toggle, ensuring accurate tracking of hours worked per client.

By Wiebke Uhlendorf

In this guide, we'll learn how to generate and send weekly reports using Toggl Track. This process involves creating two specific reports: one for an overview of hours worked per client and another focused on the LottoLove project.

These reports help in planning the upcoming week's hours and ensure that all team members' hours are accurately logged. Timely and accurate reporting is crucial for project management and team coordination.

Let's get started.

Once you're logged into Toggl and see the dashboard, click on Reports. You should do this weekly, ideally on Friday, to update how many hours can be planned for the coming week.

Click on "Reports"
Step #2: Click on "Reports"

Click on this button and always choose the date range from the beginning of the month to the current date. For example, if today is Friday the 23rd, select from the 1st to the 23rd.

Click on "This week •"
Step #3: Click on "This week •"

Click on "23"
Step #4: Click on "23"

You will always see a white circle indicating the current day. For this demonstration, I'll pick Friday, as it's the best time to send this report. Click somewhere random, and you will see this view.

Before sending it, make sure you see all the team names here. For Lottolove, you need to see Alba, Nicole, and yourself. If you don't see one of these names, check with Nicole or Alba to see if they did any work. If they did, ask them to log their hours. It's very important to have up-to-date hours for each person before sending this report to Nicole. I recommend sending everyone a reminder on Friday morning to log their hours.

You can schedule this reminder on Slack.
