How to Pull Open Order Reports from Showplace Cabinetry
Learn how to efficiently pull and manage open order reports from Showplace Cabinetry to streamline project management and scheduling.
In this guide, we'll learn how to pull open order reports from Showplace Cabinetry. These reports are crucial for project management, helping to schedule installations and track incoming orders. Unlike other manufacturers who send reports via email, Showplace Cabinetry requires accessing their website. We'll go through the steps to download, adjust, and format the report for easy sharing with project managers and designers.
Let's get started
Here's how to pull an open order report from Showplace Cabinetry: First, go to their website, Showplacebiz, and log in.

Once logged in, go to the top ribbon. Under the reports tab, you'll find open orders.

Click on that, and it will bring you to a page with all the information. It's a lot to take in at once, so we'll import their open orders report. Click the icon at the top left to save an Excel file to your computer. Go ahead and click save to the desktop.

Open the tab and enable editing. We need to rearrange some columns to view the necessary information. Not all data is essential, but some are crucial. Order number and order status are important. The acknowledgement date should be visible. The ship week is crucial as this is needed to start building out their installation calendar. Not all orders will have this information available at the time we pull the report. Purchase order and project name are important, while pro order and submitted date are less so. Ensure everything fits for a clear view. Once adjusted, take a screenshot using Windows key + Shift + S to capture the needed information.
Once we have that clipped, we'll open Word or Google Sheets. I'll switch to landscape mode and make some room for clarity. I'll title the document at the top, paste in the information, enlarge it for readability, and then print it as a PDF to send out. Save the PDF to the desktop as a temporary file. Now that it's saved as a PDF, you can print it and review the information to note shipping dates. We'll also send this open order report out to all staff. It's used for primarily for project management but also shared with designers to update them on project delivery dates. As mentioned, all other manufacturers will email us, and this is the only exception. That's all there is to it.
