Learn how to manage permissions in Glitter, ensuring your team can view or edit guides as needed. Discover the latest features of Glitter's desktop app for video and screen recordings.
In this guide, we'll learn how to manage permissions in Glitter when sharing guides with your team. By default, guides shared to the team library are set to view-only to prevent unintended edits. However, you can easily change these settings to allow team members to edit the guides. Understanding how to adjust these permissions ensures that your team can collaborate effectively while maintaining control over content changes.
Let's get started
Hello, Dave. This is Yuval. I want to show you how permissions work in Glitter. When you share a guide to your team library, it is set as view-only for team members by default. This prevents situations where, for example, you have 10 team members, and after sharing a guide, someone unexpectedly edits it. You can easily change it.
I'll open a guide from my Glitter library and wait for it to load.

When I go to the Share menu, I can see it's published to my team guides.

Next, click on "People with Access," and you can see that it's shared with the Glitter support team.

If I click on this icon, I can choose whether they can edit or view. It's set to view by default, so I'll click on "Can Edit." This change allows anyone on the team to edit the guide.

I hope that answers the question and is useful.
