Glitter Credits are the currency used for AI-powered features in Glitter. 1 credit = $1. They are shared among all team members and used for:
- Video-to-guide conversion - Upload any video and our AI turns it into a step-by-step guide
- Guide translation - Translate your guides into any of 99 supported languages
Every paid plan includes a monthly credit allowance that refreshes each billing cycle.
Does creating guides with the Desktop App or Browser Extension require credits?
No. Recording your screen with the desktop app or browser extension and creating guides from those recordings is completely free and does not use any credits.
Credits are only used for video-to-guide conversion (uploading an existing video) and guide translation.
How much does video-to-guide conversion cost?
Video-to-guide conversion costs 1 credit per minute of video, rounded up to the nearest minute.
For example, a 3-minute video costs 3 credits, and a 90-second video costs 2 credits.
How much does guide translation cost?
Guide translation costs 1 credit per 500 words, with a minimum of 1 credit per translation.
Most guides cost just 1 credit to translate. For example, a guide with 400 words costs 1 credit to translate into another language.
Can I buy more credits if I run out?
Yes! You can purchase additional credits at any time for $1 per credit. Choose from preset bundles or enter a custom amount.
Do credits ever expire?
No. Your credits stay in your account until you use them. Video-to-guide conversion works as long as you have credits, even on the free plan.
Some features like guide translation require an active paid plan in addition to credits.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Pro and Team plans come with a 7-day free trial that includes $5 in Glitter Credits so you can try video-to-guide conversion and other premium features right away.
Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?
Absolutely. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your plan at any time from your billing settings.
- Plan changes take effect immediately and billing is prorated
- Cancellations let you keep access until the end of your billing period
Is the desktop app available on the free plan?
Yes. The desktop app is fully available on every plan, including the free plan. We believe everyone should have access to great screen capture tools, so we never gate the desktop app behind a paywall.
