How do I edit text in my guide?

Just click on any text and start typing. The guide editor works like a document - click to place your cursor, then type, delete, or paste. All changes save automatically. You can also use keyboard shortcuts like Cmd+B for bold, Cmd+I for italic, and more.

Can I reorder steps after recording?

Yes. Click the sort button on any step, then drag it to a new position. Step numbers update automatically - no manual renumbering needed. You can also drag callouts, headings, and any other content blocks.

What types of callouts can I add?

Glitter offers four callout types: Tip (blue) for helpful information, Success (green) for confirmations, Caution (yellow) for warnings, and Guide Link (purple) for linking to related guides. Each has a distinct visual style to help readers understand the context.

Can I edit screenshots after capture?

Yes. Click any screenshot to open the editor. You can blur sensitive information, add annotations (arrows, boxes, text), crop to focus on specific areas, and adjust the hotspot position. All edits are non-destructive - the original is preserved.

How do I add a step I missed during recording?

Click the + button that appears between steps (or at the top/bottom of your guide). Choose to add a text-only step, upload a screenshot, or extract a frame from an uploaded video. The new step slots right in, and all step numbers update automatically.

Can I link to other guides?

Yes. Use the Guide Link callout to create a styled reference to another guide, or select any text and press Cmd+K to add a hyperlink. You can search your guides by name and link with one click - no URL copying needed.

Is the guide editor free?

Yes, the guide editor is completely free. All editing features - text editing, drag-and-drop, callouts, step management, and find & replace - are available on the free plan. Some advanced screenshot editing features (blur, annotate, crop) require a Pro plan.

Does it support right-to-left languages?

Yes. Glitter supports 99 languages including full RTL (right-to-left) support for Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, and others. You can toggle text direction with a keyboard shortcut (Cmd+Alt+R for RTL, Cmd+Alt+L for LTR) or from the formatting menu.
